Is there a famine in the land?

famine

yes and no, you just have to keep searching until you find

I got to think about 1.Kings 17 where Elijah had to flee from king Ahab after pronouncing a drought over the land. So he fled to the brook Cherith and was fed by the ravens, but after a while the brook dried up because of the lack of rain.

So he had to move on and ended up with the widow and her son who fed them from the barrel of meal and the cruise of oil that never dried up because she put the prophet first.

The reason I got to think of that story is because it seems to me some of my usual sources of inspiration is also drying up. Many Christian bloggers are still writing or speaking, but it often feels like the same hash.

It looks like Brian Zahnd's sermon archive has been deleted.

I really liked Carl Medearis but he was kicked out of Vineyard Church for whatever reason.

Rachel, Held Evans sadly passed away.

Keith Giles is in my humble opinion sometimes a bit off on a tangent.

Richard Rohr is good, but his cookies are often on a hard to reach shelf.

Vaneetha Risner is en expert on pain even if a bit evangelical.

Sarah Bessie seem currently to be into spiritual practices.

Dina Davos has pretty much exhausted the subject of divorce.

Geopolitics and Empires circle mostly around the coming New World Order and surveillance etc, even if true, how much more can you say? Que Sera Sera.

So that's been a bit of a bummer, but like Elijah, who found nourishment with a widow, there is still nourishment for the soul.

I found a good article from Pastor Francis Chan. He left a mega church in California to go witnessing in South-east Asia. There he discovered, what we already learned, that the survival of the church is in scattering.

Read an interview with Francis Chan here.

God bless him!
